Dr. James Helmers, Dr. John Helmers, Dr. Daniel Long and the Eyecare Professionals team strive to provide the finest in optometry services. Eyecare Professionals is a full service eye and vision care provider and will take both eye emergencies as well as scheduled appointments. Patients throughout the Mandan, Hazen, and Washburn areas come to Eyecare Professionals because they know they will receive the personal attention and professional care that is our foundation. Our team is dedicated to keeping our patients comfortable and well-informed at all times. At Eyecare Professionals, we will explain every exam and procedure and answer all of our patient's questions.     Dr. Long is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He practices family optometry seeing infants and children through seniors, helping everyone to maintain clear vision and healthy eyes.

    Dr. James Helmers grew up in Kenmare, ND and after graduating high school he attended college at NDSU. From NDSU, he attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and graduated there before returning back to North Dakota. Dr. James started his practice in Mandan and shortly after his brother, Dr. John, joined the practice the offices expanded to Hazen and Washburn.

    Office Manager/Insurance Specialist

    Rita has been at Eyecare Professionals keeping our staff and doctors organized and the office running smoothly for over 25 years. She diligently files all insurance claims and is knowledgeable with insurance plans offered to patients. Rita does trainings, ordering and filing for the office. You may also find her friendly face out front working many days. On her off time, she enjoys gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with family.

    Jolene has been with Eyecare Professionals for over 25 years. She is responsible for optical sales and ordering. Her friendly attitude may greet you at the reception desk or in our eyewear area. She enjoys assisting patients with questions, and helping pick out the perfect eyewear to fit everyone's style. Jolene enjoys her free time spending time with her family.

    Optician

    Rose Joined the Eyecare team almost 20 years ago. She assists patients with frame selection, as well as discussing different lens styles and options. She also assists with contact lens fittings. Rose enjoys having a good laugh with patients. She enjoys spending time with loved ones and going on Harley rides.

    Pre-tester

    Chelsea joined the Eyecare Professional team in June of 2012. She has a friendly smile, and bubbly personality and takes greate pleasure in helping patients. Chelsea assists with thoroughly pre-testing patients before they see the doctor and frame selection in the optical department. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son.

    Pre-tester

    Jayre came to our staff in the summer of 2011. She seats the patients in the exam room, discusses any visual problems or concerns the patient may have, and performs the initial testing prior to patients seeing the doctor. In her spare time Jayre is busy chasing after her three children and spending time with her husband.
